To use the Ash Twin tower to make it into the core, you just need to wait under the bridge until the sand passes overhead. Once you’re in the middle of the sand, sprint into the tower and you’ll be teleported into in Ash Twin core.

When the sand column is right overhead, step onto the warp pad in the broken tower (not the tower where you read the scroll). This will warp you down to the planet’s core and the Ash Twin Project.
How do you jump to a Sun station?
If you’re looking to get to the Sun Station in Outer Wilds, you’ll need to head to Ash Twin. Once there, land on one of the planet’s poles and step outside. If you wait for some of the ash to be pulled from the planet, you’ll spot the Sun Tower shown in the image above.

Once the lava has emptied enough, a Nomai skeleton can be found in a lava-lake, giving a ‘rock on’ gesture with both hands. Ghost Matter is an extremely hazardous substance found throughout the Solar System. While invisible to the naked eye, it can be detected by the camera or Little Scout. If the player enters a patch of Ghost Matter, their screen becomes noticeably distorted and becomes a discolored blue-green color.

Unfortunately, assuming that the sun’s shockwave travels at the speed of light, (about 300 million m/s) there is no way to outrun the supernova in Outer Wilds.
Can I land on the sun station?
The Sun Station orbits extremely close to the Sun, and while it is possible to land on it, or near enough, it is very difficult indeed. Luckily, the Nomai built a portal to access the Sun Station easily.

Activate the switch, moving the ball up to the top. Hop into the grav beam and make sure to land in the beam on the other side, it will catch you. From here, look up at the wall to find some grav-crystals.
Why does the sun explode in outer wilds?
After 22 minutes into the cycle, the Sun collapses due its inability to support its own gravity. It collapses in on itself to form into a relatively small sphere for a brief moment before exploding outer ward violently with a blue flash.
